Vegan cocktail recipe for "White Russian" cocktail

There are few films that have shaped the cocktail culture as much as the film "The Big Lebowksi" from 1998. The cocktail "White Russian" celebrated there has been a classic since the film was broadcast and can be found in every good bar.

The White Russian is a fairly simple cocktail as it consists of only three components. However, one of these three ingredients is cream, which unfortunately made it impossible for vegans and people with lactose intolerance to enjoy the White Russian.

However, so that this agony comes to an end, we are putting a whole for you today vegan recipe of the White Russian Cocktail in front. For the vegan version of the cult cocktail you need the following ingredients :

  • 6cl vodka
  • 3cl coffee liqueur
  • 3cl cashew cream (or vegan cream)

preparation

To mix the perfect vegan White Russian you need a so-called tumbler glass. This is a flat cocktail glass. You fill this tumbler with three to four ice cubes. Then add the 6cl vodka and 3cl coffee liqueur. For this we can recommend the "Khalua" which can be found in every supermarket.

Now we have already mixed a so-called Black Russian. In order to take the cocktail to the next level, however, we now have to make our homemade cashew cream. The recipe is as follows:

  1. Soak a handful of cashew nuts in water overnight if possible.
  2. Chop the cashew nuts in a blender.
  3. Add some water.
  4. Beat the cashew kernel cream with a mixer until semi-stiff.

When you have finished the cashew cream and it is still minimally liquid, the next thing to do is to "float" the cream into the drink with the help of a spoon. This means you place the spoon slightly the wrong way round over the drink and carefully pour the cashew cream onto the spoon. This means that the cream stays on the surface and does not mix directly with the vodka-coffee liqueur mixture.

After that, all you have to do is enjoy and if you need a suitable film for the cocktail you will know which one it is anyway.
